Ola Electric has officially kicked off mass deliveries of its vehicles powered by the company’s new 4680 Bharat Cell, marking a major milestone in India’s electric mobility journey. The S1 Pro+ (5.2kWh) is the first scooter to use this indigenous battery technology, offering higher range, stronger performance, and improved safety.
With the introduction of its own battery packs, Ola Electric has become India’s first company to fully design and manufacture both the battery pack and the cell in-house — a significant step toward deeper EV self-reliance.
An Ola Electric spokesperson said the response to the S1 Pro+ has been “phenomenal,” noting that customers are now riding India’s first scooters equipped with the homegrown 4680 Bharat Cell. The spokesperson added that this milestone comes at a time when the company’s stock is currently trading near its 52-week low, making this technological leap a crucial confidence booster for investors following the EV sector’s rapid transitions.
