Waaree Energies Limited, one of India’s leading solar companies, has released a statement highlighting its continued commitment to the U.S. solar manufacturing sector and regulatory compliance.
Expansion in the U.S.
Through its U.S. subsidiary, Waaree Solar Americas Inc., the company currently operates a 1.6 GW solar module manufacturing facility in Texas. Expansion work is already underway to double its capacity to 3.2 GW. Waaree recently strengthened its U.S. presence by acquiring solar manufacturing assets from Meyer Burger, a move that aligns with its long-term growth plans in America.
Cooperation with Authorities
The company confirmed that the U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) has initiated an inquiry into whether certain imports by Waaree fall under antidumping and countervailing duty measures. Waaree stated it is fully cooperating with the authorities and emphasized that it does not expect any additional duties as a result of the investigation.
Strong Focus on Compliance
Waaree assured stakeholders that it is transparent, compliant, and committed to U.S. trade regulations. The company reaffirmed that it values its role in supporting America’s clean energy goals while also creating domestic manufacturing opportunities.
Company’s Statement
“We remain confident in our compliance posture and appreciate the opportunity to clarify the facts. Waaree Energies will continue to operate with integrity and strengthen its presence in the U.S. market,” the company said.
