September 30, 2025 – Tata Motors, India’s largest commercial vehicle manufacturer, has deepened its partnership with digital logistics platform Freight Tiger by investing a fresh ₹120 crore through Series C CCPS and acquiring 49,500 equity shares worth about ₹14 crore. With this, Tata Motors’ total investment in Freight Tiger climbs to ₹270 crore, strengthening its stake to an estimated 42–46% on a fully diluted basis.

Driving India’s Freight Future with AI

The funding is aimed at accelerating AI-powered logistics solutions that will make India’s fragmented freight ecosystem smarter, faster, and more transparent. Freight Tiger, which already processes nearly 5% of India’s total freight, plans to launch new innovations in Q4 2025, including:

  • Vehicle Supply Density Platform
  • Next-Gen Dispatch Planning & Procurement Module
  • Integrated Freight Desk

These AI-led tools are expected to cut inefficiencies, optimize freight routes, and reduce working capital costs for shippers.

Strategic Synergy

Tata Motors’ vast trucking ecosystem combined with Freight Tiger’s intelligent logistics platform is seen as a game-changer for the industry.

“This investment is not just about funding technology – it’s about building India’s first integrated digital freight backbone,” said TV Swaminathan, VP & Head – Digital Business, Tata Motors Commercial Vehicles.

Swapnil Shah, Founder & CEO of Freight Tiger, added, “Together with Tata Motors, we’re building a logistics intelligence network that will power India’s next wave of economic growth.”

Big Clients, Bigger Ambitions

Freight Tiger already works with industry giants such as JSW Steel, Asian Paints, Amul, Saint-Gobain, Apollo Tyres, and Zepto. By 2028, the company aims to handle 20% of India’s total freight movement.

Why It Matters

India’s logistics sector has long struggled with fragmented systems and inefficiencies. By combining AI with one of the country’s strongest truck fleets, Tata Motors and Freight Tiger are setting the stage for a smarter, digitally driven logistics ecosystem that could redefine how goods move across the country.
