Hindustan Construction Wins ₹2,566 Crore Contracts for Patna Metro Rail Project

Hindustan Construction Company Limited (HCC) has secured two major contracts worth approximately ₹2,566 crore from the Patna Metro Rail Corporation Limited (PMRCL) under Phase I of the Patna Metro Rail Project.

Project Scope

The contracts cover 10.67 km of underground tunnels and six metro stations, to be built using Tunnel Boring Machines (TBMs).

  • Package PC-05 (₹1,418.3 crore):
    • Twin tunnels via shield TBM
    • Cut-and-cover tunnel and underground ramp at Mithapur
    • Metro stations at Vikas Bhawan, Vidyut Bhawan, and Patna Station
  • Package PC-06 (₹1,147.5 crore):
    • Underground ramp at Rukanpura
    • Metro stations at Rukanpura, Raja Bazar, and Patna Zoo

Both packages also include architectural finishing, water supply, drainage, and sanitation systems for the stations along the Danapur–Khemnichak Corridor.

Strengthening Metro Infrastructure Leadership

With these new contracts, HCC reinforces its leadership in India’s urban metro infrastructure sector. The company is already executing key projects such as:

  • Mumbai Metro Line III (4 km of twin tunnels and four stations)
  • Indore Metro Phase I (5.66 km of twin tunnels and seven underground stations)
  • Two packages of Chennai Metro

HCC has also been a vital player in India’s metro expansion, delivering important stretches of the Delhi Metro, Bangalore Metro, Mumbai Metro Line I, and Kolkata Metro.
